Here are the key takeaways from the coronavirus data released by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on Friday (May 22, 2020): India’s daily increase in total cases of 6,088, is its all-time single-day high. Its total tally has jumped from 112,359 to 118,447, an increase of 5.4%.

Net increase of 148 in deaths has taken the country’s death toll to 3,583. India’s recovery rate has improved by 70 basis points to 41%; death rate has fallen by 10 bps to 3%. India’s new daily closed cases stands at 3,382 — 148 deaths and 3,234 ...
