Here are the key takeaways from the coronavirus data released by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on Tuesday (May 26, 2020): With a daily net increase of 6,535, India’s total cases have jumped from 138,845 to 145,380, an increase of 4.7%. Net increase of 146 in deaths has taken the country’s death toll to 4,167.

India’s recovery rate is unchanged at 41.6%, and death rate at 2.9%. India’s new daily closed cases stand at 2,916 — 146 deaths and 2,770 recoveries. The share of deaths in total closed cases stands at ...
